Russian singer Yulia Samoylova who was banned from the entry to Ukraine, does not loose hope to perform at the Eurovision Song Contest and believes that the situation may change.

"It\'s amusing to observe all this from the side, because I don\'t really understand what kind of threat do they see in me, in such a small girl. But at large, I\'m not upset. For some reason I think the situation will change", Samoylova said commenting the issue for Channel One.

Earlier, 2nd national broadcaster VGTRK (RTR) has announced that both TV channels have agreed not to broadcast 2017 event without Russian participant in it. Channel One, participating broadcaster this year, however, declined to comment on this report. At the same time, sources of Gazeta.ru inform that the issue of the broadcast wasn\'t even discussed yet, but it is not ruled out that it will be discussed on a later date.

Channel One and VGTRK took a joint decision that in Yulia Samoylova is unable to travel to the Eurovision in Kyiv, regardless of which channel will be broadcasting Eurovision next year, Russia will be represented in ESC 2018 by the same Yulia Samoylova - this part of the agreement has been confirmed by both broadcasters.
