Russell Westbrook has been singlehandedly dragging the Thunder towards the playoffs in the absence of Kevin Durant. He has had six triple doubles in the last eight games, positively dominated the past month and a half, and thrust himself into the MVP conversation. And yet, there are still detractors of what he is doing. These detractors are out here saying audacious things about Russell Westbrook being overrated and saying he is not helping the Thunder that much. Well, these people are stupid and wrong, and you should probably never listen to them again. Here we will look at some of the things Westbrook’s detractors are saying about him and why they are wrong and inaccurate.

듀랭이 없는 동안 버럭이는 플옵막차를 위해 지금까지 팀을 홀로 이끌고 있고 최근 8경기동안 6번의 트리플 더블을 해냈다. 대략 한달하고도 보름동안 미쳐 날뛰다보니 엠비피 썰에 튀어나올 정도였는 데도 불구하고 여전히 버럭이는 과대평가됬고 팀에 도움이 별로 안된다고 까는 놈들이 있다.  그 놈들은 걍 ㅄ들이고 귀담아들을 필요도 없다.  *우선 버럭이 까는 새끼들이 하는 것들을 보고 뭐가 잘 못 됬는 지 아라보자.

1. The Thunder have a worse record when Russell Westbrook is the lone wolf as opposed to Kevin Durant. Hence, Russell is not on KD’s level and his elevated play is not helping them win. People try to compare these, but it’s really apples and oranges. The Thunder knew Russ would be out for the beginning of the season last year, and were able to adjust their gameplan accordingly for life without Westbrook for half the season. This season, the Thunder had no clue KD was going to miss this much time at the beginning of the season, and they did not adjust the same. Also, OKC made two trades this year, and the new guys had to be integrated midseason. The Thunder are learning on the fly this year, and there would be no point to try to introduce a bunch of new sets for the new players without KD, who wasn’t supposed to be out this long anyways. Hence, Scott Brooks just puts the ball in Russ’s hands and lets him play glorified street ball. Furthermore, while Westbrook was replaced in the rotation by one of the best reserves in the NBA last season in Reggie Jackson, while KD was replaced by Dion Waiters, who fell out of Cleveland’s rotation to the likes of Mike Miller, who has more back problems than most grandparents, undrafted free agent Matthew Delladova, and the corpse of Shawn Marion . OKC also replaced Thabo Sefalosha with Andre Roberson. Last year Roberson was glued to the bench because of Thabo, and even given Roberson’s improvement, he cannot shoot or defend like Thabo can. Also, the Thunder have lost some veteran leadership from last year in Thabo, Fisher, and Perkins. None of tem were stellar, but two years ago the Knicks were a two seed in the East. They lost Kidd, Sheed, and Kurt Thomas. Not stellar players or big contributors, but they missed the playoffs the next year. Veteran leadership is very important, and the Thunder are lacking in it now.

1.썬더는 작년 듀랭무쌍 시즌(버럭이 아웃시절)때 성적이 이번 시즌 버럭무쌍 시즌(듀랭이 아웃)보다 더 좋다. 즉, 작년과 현재를 대조하면서 버럭이를 까고 있는 데 이는 버럭이가 아직 듀랭이 클라스에 못 미치고 그래서 버럭이는 팀을 (듀랭이와 비교했을 때) 승리로 이끌지 못한다는 논리다.

하지만 이건 서로 비교할 수 없고 완전히 별개의 문제다(apple and orange ). 왜냐하면 첫번째로, 저번 시즌때 썬더는 버럭이가 시즌 초부터 못 나올걸 알고 있었고 그에 맞춰 경기계획을 조정할 수 있었기 때문이지만 이번 시즌때는 듀랭이가 갑작스럽게 시즌 아웃한거라 그러질 못 했다. 두번째로, 썬더는 이번 시즌에 2차례에 걸쳐 트레이드를 했고 새로운 선수들은 시즌 중반에 팀에 합류해야했고 바꿔말해 새로운 선수들은 지금도 듀랭이 없는 농구시스템을 어떻게든 스스로 터득하고 있다(on the fly는 성급하게 다급하게를 의미하는 부사구임) ..이 말뜻은 스캇이 새로 들어온 선수들한테 하나하나 전술을 설명하고 연습할 시간이 부족하다는 걸 의미하고 그래서 스캇 브룩스는 이미 좆된거 시발 모든 걸 버럭이에게 맡기고 할렘 농구(glorified streetball 스트릿볼이랑 별반 다를 게 없는)를 시전하도록 냅두는 거다. 더 설명하자면,작년엔 썬더는 버럭이 대신에 훌륭한 선수 레지 잭슨으로 땜빵했지만 이번 시즌엔 듀랭이 대신에 디온 웨이터스 같은 쓰레기 똥캐로 땜빵을 하는 중이고 또 타보 대신에 로버슨으로 떔방하는 데 이 새끼는 타보처럼 수비도 슛도 못 쓰는 개쩌리다. 물론 타보나 어부 펔같은 놈들이 일류 선수(stellar:훌륭한 일류의)는 아니지만 베테랑 선수로서 아주 중요한 자원들이다. 일례로 2년전에 뉴욕 닉스는 동부에서 2시드를 획득했지만 키드 쉬드 토마스같은 베테랑이 은퇴한 그 다음해에 닉스는 플옵에 탈락했다, 이처럼 베테랑 리더쉽은 아주 중요하고 썬더는 지금 이게 부족하다

2. The Thunder don’t win every game where Westbrook puts up a triple double, so they are not good for the team.  In the 1988-89 season, Doug Collins moved Michael Jordan to point guard for eleven games, and MJ responded with ten triple doubles in those eleven games. Over that stretch he averaged 33.6 points, 10.8 boards, and 11.4 assists. The Bulls record in those games? 5-6. Russell has 7 triple doubles in the last ten and the Thunder are 6-4 (7-4 with the game he missed against the Lakers, which they would’ve won regardless). Granted, MJ wasn’t a point guard, but he’s THE GREATEST MOTHERF*CKING PLAYER OF ALL TIME. MJ showed its impossible to win all by yourself, no matter how good you are, but Russ is doing a damn good job.

2.서버럭이 트리플 더블을 해낼때마다 썬더는 패배하니까 팀에 도움이 안된다는 논리다.

근데 1988-89 시즌을 보면 콜린스 대신에  조던이 11경기동안 포가롤을 맏았고 11경기동안 10번을 트리플 더블을 작성했다. 그때동안 조던은 평득 33.6 평리 10.8 평어시스트 11.4를 달성했는 데 불스는 5승 6패를 작성했다. 반면에 러셀은 10경기동안 7번 트리플 더블을 작성했고 팀은 6승 4패를 작성했다(한번 더 이기긴했는 데 그땐 러셀도 없었고 걔 없어도 꽁으로 이길 경기니까 제외)  물론 조던은 포가가 아니었지만 그 분은 역대 씹사기캐라서 그런 기록을 해냈다. 어쨋든 암만 혼자 미쳐 날뛰어도 매번 경기를 승리로 이끄는 건 불가능에 가깝다

하지만 조던 말고도 러셀도 어쨋든 훌륭한 일을 지금도 해내는 중이다.

(즉 조던같은 역대최고 선수도 트리플 더블 해내면서 혼자서 날뛴다고 팀을 매번 승리로 못 이끌었듯이, 러셀이 트리플 더블 작성하면서 팀을 승리로 못 이끌었다고 너 개새끼는 아니라는 뜻)

 3. Westbrook should defer to his teammates more. Without an actual offense in place, I’m not sure what people want. Do they want Dion Waiters, a player who ran ISOs until he got kicked off another contender, to get more ISO plays? Do they want Enes Kanter to get more post ups, even though Andre Roberson’s man could immediately double, considering he shoots about 20% from three? Do they want Singler, Morrow, and Novak, three shooters very limited off the dribble to handle the ball more? Do they want McGary and Adams, two bigs who work best in the pick and roll, to get some post ups or face ups, even given their lack of moves near the hoop? Someone tell me, because none of these ideas sound even remotely attractive

3.서버럭이는 갠플 그만하고 팀 동료들의 지시를 더 따라야 된다!는 논리다

근데 제대로 된 세트 오펜스도 없이(오클의 약점...) 내 생각엔 과연 팀 동료들이 뭘 원할지 참 의문이다. (귀찮아서 나머지건 안적음)

내 생각엔 이 병신들(웨이터스 모로우,노박로버슨 맥개리 아담스)이 능력도 좆도 없으면서 자기 플레이 더 하게 냅두는 건 그닥이다.

4. Westbrook is shouldering a similar load to other MVP front runners James Harden and Steph Curry. On offense, yes their loads are similar. Westbrook still creates more points via scoring and assists, but they are all offensive MVPs of their team. Also, both have way better shooters on their team than Russ, and see way less double teams. The Clippers went so far as to double team him every time he ran a pick and roll. And on defense, it’s not even close. Harden is sandwiched between Trevor Ariza and Patrick Beverly, so he gets the easiest defensive assignment. Steph Curry has Shaun Livingston, Klay Thompson, and Andre Iguodola, who will also take the harder guys. Roberson is playing the three now, and usually takes the harder wing between him and Dion, so Russell has to run the seemingly never ending gauntlet of defending the West’s elite point guards. Also, DJ Augustin and Anthony Morrow aren’t exactly elite ball stoppers either, so Russell doesn’t catch many breaks on defense. Even last year, Durant had Thabo to guard the elite wings in the NBA for him most nights.

4.버럭이는 엠비피 레이스 선두주자 제임스 하든이랑 스텦 커리와 같이 유사한 짐을 어깨에 짊어지고 있다는 논리다.(버럭이

저새끼만 특별한거 아니거든? 엠비피 레이스 상위권에 있는 놈들은 다 저렇게 힘든거야 시발놈아를 의미)

공격에선 득점과 어시스트를 한다는 점에선 비슷할지 몰라도, 하든이나 커리의 경우 버럭이보다 더 좋은 슈터를 보유하고 있고 더블팀도 버럭이 보다 덜 당한다. 클리퍼스와 경기를 보면 버럭이가 픽앤롤 할때마다 매번 더블팀을 당하는 걸 볼 수 있다. 그리고 수비에 있어선 조또 비슷한 점 하나도 없다. 하든은 아리자나 패트릭 버리를 두고 수비하니까 부담도 덜하고 커리는 숀 리빙스턴 클레이 톰슨 안드레이 이궈달라가 수비 부담을 덜해준다. 반면에 러셀은 지 수비 말고도 윙(좌,우)수비도 책임져야되는 데 이는 버럭이가 매번 서부 엘리트 포가를 맏아야 한다는 걸 의미한다. 실제로 디제이 어거스틴이나 앤써니 모로우 같은 선수들이 수비를 잘 하지 못 하다보니 버럭이가 속공때 수비를 잘 못하고 있다(이건 솔직히 나도 무슨 뜻인지 모르겠다)심지어 작년에 경우 듀랭이는 타보 세폴로샤같은 엘리트 수비수가 윙을 수비해줬다.(한마디로 웨스트브룩은 수비부담 좆된다는 거다)

 Currently, Westbrook has been burdened with an unreal load, and is handling it quite well. Instead of complaining he literally can’t win every game, we should instead realize how special this run is and be amazed by how much he is doing with so little.

현재 버럭이는 상상할 수 없을 정도로 무거운 짐을 지고 있음에도 불구하고 잘 해결하고 있다. 우리는 앞으로 버럭이가 매번 경기를

승리로 못 이끈다고 지랄하기 보다는 버럭이가 홀로 이끄는 모습이 얼마나 특별한지를 깨달아야 된다
